The Minister of Media's speech paved a new path for Saudi media, with the Kingdom striving to improve its performance, reflecting positively on its reputation and standing both regionally and in the Arab world. Today, the Kingdom is undergoing a journey of economic and tourism transformation, a shift that requires an adaptive and capable media apparatus. As part of this national project and the goal of developing the media system, the Media City in Riyadh was born, becoming a hub for channels and a cultural and technological destination. It also hosts workshops, initiatives, and projects aimed at elevating the media landscape. Furthermore, the Saudi Media Academy was launched to analyze this market and empower talents through development and training in partnership with major companies to meet industry needs. Today, the Saudi Media Forum addressed global media concerns from various perspectives by hosting cultural elites and experts in the field as part of the most prominent media event in Saudi Arabia, producing recommendations and reports to support official efforts to enhance the performance of local media. The Minister of Media's speech brought hope to those in the profession by outlining clear plans and overcoming challenges, declaring the Year of Media Transformation as a path paved with three tracks that align with the General Commission for Audiovisual Media’s strategy. The media sector, across all its platforms, is an economic partner contributing to the gross domestic product, with a participation of 14.5 billion SAR in 2023. The goal is to reach 16 billion SAR this year.
